Looking at remembered hand actions (The Craftsman), there are some things we can do without looking. French plaiting hair is something my grandma used to do for us, scraping back strands and using a flannel to tame the hair back smoothly. She taught me how to do it. In this video she is speaking about her own mum and how she taught her, how she was always looking at what her mum did, trying to absorb it. My granny taught me so much, we started making these recordings because we knew she had dementia and we were trying to record recipes before they were lost. She never wrote anything down.
